1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to CookPal. By downloading, installing, or using the CookPal mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

CookPal is suitable for users of all ages (4+). By using the App, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement, or if you are a minor, that you have obtained parental or guardian consent.

2. Description of Service

CookPal is a recipe management application that allows users to:

Import recipes from URLs, photos, and text
Manually create and organize recipes
Generate AI-powered recipe ideas based on ingredients
Create and manage shopping lists
Organize recipes into cookbooks

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the App, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Keep your account information up to date
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Not share your account with others

4. User Content and License

You retain ownership of any recipes, images, and other content you create or upload to CookPal ("User Content"). However, by submitting User Content to the App, you grant CookPal a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the App.

You represent and warrant that:

You own or have the rights to the content you submit
Your content does not infringe on third-party rights
Your content does not contain illegal or harmful material

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

CookPal includes AI-powered features that generate recipe suggestions and ideas. Please note:

AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs
Always verify ingredient quantities, cooking times, and safety information before preparing any recipe
CookPal is not responsible for any adverse outcomes resulting from following AI-generated recipes
Users with allergies or dietary restrictions should exercise caution and verify all ingredients

6. Subscriptions and Payments

CookPal offers both free and premium subscription plans ("CookPal Pro"). Premium features include unlimited recipe imports and unlimited AI recipe generation.

Subscription Terms:

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
Refunds are available within 24 hours of purchase by contacting our support team

Payment processing is handled by RevenueCat and the Apple App Store. CookPal does not store your payment information.

7. Data Collection and Privacy

CookPal collects the following information to provide and improve our services:

Email address (for account creation)
Recipe data (recipes you create, import, or save)
Usage analytics (to improve app performance and features)

We use third-party analytics providers to help us understand how users interact with the App. For complete details on how we handle your data, please review our Privacy Policy.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
Interfere with or disrupt the App or its servers
Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
Scrape, copy, or redistribute App content without permission
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by CookPal and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our express written consent.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. COOKPAL DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

Recipe content, including AI-generated recipes, is provided for informational purposes only. CookPal does not guarantee the accuracy, safety, or nutritional information of any recipe.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COOKPAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF DATA, PERSONAL INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings or by contacting our support team.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new Terms in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
